-Egypt's first pyramid, dated: 2750 BCE!
-Here limestone was first used on a large scale as a construction material
-Height: 62 metres (203 ft)
- was built for the burial of
Pharaoh Djoser-Netjerikhet by his Vizier Imhotep.
-Located at the
Saqqara necropolis to the northwest of the city of Memphis, and is the central feature of a vast mortuary complex in an enormous courtyard surrounded by ceremonial structures and decoration.
